Good morning all, Due to recent incidents involving the theft of motor vehicles and thefts from motor vehicles within the area, we would like to remind residents of some important crime‑prevention measures and outline what to do if you witness suspicious activity or have footage of a crime. 🚗 How to Protect Your VehicleResidents are encouraged to: Always lock your vehicle and double‑check doors and windows before leaving it unattended.Keep keys well away from doors and windows inside the home to prevent signal relay theft. Consider using signal‑blocking (Faraday) pouches for keyless vehicles.Avoid leaving valuables, bags, or loose items on display inside vehicles.Park in well‑lit areas or driveways where possible.Consider additional security such as steering wheel locks, immobilisers, or vehicle tracking devices.Ensure CCTV, doorbell cameras, and alarms are working, correctly positioned, and set to record.👀 If You See or Hear Something SuspiciousIf a crime is in progress, call 999 immediately. If activity appears suspicious but not an immediate emergency, report it by calling 101.Do not approach individuals involved or put yourself at risk.📹 If You Have CCTV, Doorbell, or Dash‑Cam FootagePlease save the footage as soon as possible so it is not overwritten.Make a note of times, dates, descriptions, and any vehicle details seen.Contact police via 101 and quote the relevant crime reference number if known, or advise that you hold footage which may assist an investigation.Building strong relationships with residents and maintaining regular patrols allows valuable information to be shared with police, helping to prevent crime and keep our communities safe. Your support and vigilance are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued cooperation.
